Dronsfields Car Parts: A Disappointing Customer Experience

As a dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, I feel it’s crucial to share my recent encounter with Dronsfields Car Parts, a parts supplier located in Oldham, Lancashire. My experience was far from satisfactory and serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering sourcing Mercedes parts from them.

It began with a simple phone call. I contacted Dronsfields car parts to inquire about the availability of specific Mercedes-Benz parts. I was assured that the parts were in stock and provided with a quotation. However, when I attempted to pay over the phone for convenience, I was informed that in-person payment was mandatory. Despite this slight inconvenience, and after double-checking the parts were indeed available and in good condition, I decided to make the 80-mile round trip to their location, battling through snow and slush to reach them.

Upon arrival, my troubles truly began. I was made to wait for a staggering hour while the staff purportedly searched for my pre-confirmed Mercedes car parts. After this lengthy and frustrating delay, I was informed that, contrary to what I had been told, the parts were not in stock after all. There was no suggestion that they had been sold in the interim; they simply were not there. At this point, after the wasted journey and considerable wait, my disappointment was immense.

Seeking resolution, I contacted Managing Director, Ian Dronsfield, the following day. His response was astonishingly unsympathetic and unprofessional. Mr. Dronsfield displayed no surprise at my predicament, implying this might be a recurring issue at Dronsfields car parts. Instead of an apology, I received a dismissive explanation that the parts had “probably been sold” after I had been assured of their availability – a direct contradiction to his own staff’s earlier statement. Even more shockingly, Mr. Dronsfield stated that “THIS EXACT SAME THING COULD HAPPEN TO ANYBODY BUYING PARTS FROM THEM!” When I mentioned my intention to share my experience, he confidently asserted that Dronsfields car parts’ “fine reputation” would withstand any negative feedback.

This encounter with Dronsfields car parts left me deeply unimpressed. While they may have served customers adequately in the past, their current practices regarding stock management and customer service are severely lacking. To be so dismissive of a customer who has undertaken an 80-mile round trip based on inaccurate information is unacceptable for any company claiming to be reputable in the car parts industry.

Therefore, I strongly advise fellow Mercedes-Benz owners and car enthusiasts to consider alternative suppliers for their Mercedes car parts needs. My experience suggests that dealing with Dronsfields car parts carries a significant risk of wasted time and considerable frustration. It is essential to find a car parts supplier that values customer time and provides accurate stock information.
