CIE Automotive has officially announced its strategic acquisition of Grupo Amaya Telleria, a well-established manufacturer of Amaya Car Parts. This merger, finalized through a definitive agreement, represents a significant investment of approximately 186 million euros by CIE Automotive. The investment covers the full purchase of Grupo Amaya Telleria’s equity and the assumption of its existing debts.
Grupo Amaya Telleria, a family-owned industrial group since 1958, brings decades of expertise in the automotive component sector. Based in Ermua, Spain, the company operates production facilities across Spain, Slovakia, Mexico, and Brazil. Their diverse manufacturing footprint and focus on high-quality amaya car parts align perfectly with CIE Automotive’s growth objectives.
This acquisition is a key element of CIE Automotive’s strategic expansion and diversification plan for 2016-2020. Grupo Amaya Telleria specializes in producing components using advanced aluminium injection moulding and grinding technologies. Their product portfolio includes critical amaya car parts such as chassis, transmission, and engine components, highly sought after in the automotive industry. Importantly, this merger also broadens CIE Automotive’s customer base by incorporating Grupo Amaya Telleria’s OEM clientele.
Jesús María Herrera, Managing Director of CIE Automotive, highlighted the strategic importance of this merger. “Reinforcing the Basque industry as a hub for automotive innovation is crucial,” he stated. “The integration of Grupo Amaya Telleria significantly enhances our capacity to manufacture high added-value amaya car parts in key automotive markets, including Mexico, Brazil, and Central and Eastern Europe, regions with a strong presence of car manufacturers. This merger is perfectly aligned with CIE Automotive’s product and technology roadmap.”
