From humble beginnings in 1936, our journey in the auto parts industry started with Walter P. Wyen and the Xenia Auto Wrecking company. For over two decades, Walter diligently cultivated invaluable expertise in the realm of used vehicle components. This foundational period, from 1936 to 1958, laid the groundwork for what would become a trusted name in auto parts. After recognizing an opportunity to expand, Walter transitioned from Xenia Auto Wrecking, closing its doors in 1958 to embark on a new venture.
In May 1960, marking a significant step forward, Walter, alongside his sons following their graduation, established Walt’s Auto Inc. This new chapter began with the purchase of a 32-acre property in Springfield, Ohio, setting the stage for growth and innovation in the auto parts sector.
Initially, Walt’s Auto Inc. mirrored the operational norms of salvage yards of that era, utilizing torch wagons and boom trucks for managing inventory and dismantling vehicles. However, the vision for growth was always present. By 1977, recognizing the need for modernization to enhance efficiency and output, Walter invested in advanced equipment, including a MAC crusher and a substantial forklift. This upgrade was pivotal in streamlining operations and preparing the business for future expansion. Tragically, Walter passed away in the summer of 1979, before witnessing the full potential of his modernized company. His family, committed to his vision and legacy, stepped in to ensure the continued success and growth of Walt’s Auto Inc.
Further advancements were embraced with the integration of the AIMS Inventory System. This technological adoption marked a significant leap from manual tagging and card systems, enabling a more organized and efficient approach to inventory management. This commitment to improvement culminated in 1985 with the construction of our current 20,000 square-foot facility. This purpose-built space was designed to house all critical business functions under one roof, including office operations, sales, a showroom for customers, warehousing, dismantling, and stockroom areas.
The relentless pursuit of efficiency and customer service led to another crucial technological upgrade in 1986 with the implementation of the Hollander Computer System. This system further refined our inventory tracking and organization capabilities, ensuring that we could accurately and efficiently locate and supply the parts our customers needed. This dedication to accurate inventory and reliable service has been a cornerstone of our business, allowing us to provide customers with Accurate Foreign Car Parts Inc and domestic components they can depend on.
