The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engines, in both 400-horsepower and 300-horsepower configurations, were developed to optimize power and torque for their size, while also maximizing fuel efficiency. The high-output version in the Q60 RED SPORT 400 produces 400 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 350 lb-ft of peak torque between 1,600 and 5,200 rpm. The version used in the Q60 3.0t PURE and Q60 3.0t LUXE models delivers 300 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 295 lb-ft of torque across the same 1,600-5,200 rpm range.
The 3.0-liter VR V6 engine incorporates several innovative technologies to deliver the Q60’s engaging driving experience. A key feature is the direct-injection gasoline fueling system. This high-pressure system allows for precise fuel injection directly into the combustion chamber, delivering the exact amount of fuel needed for smooth acceleration based on throttle input and engine speed. This system contributes to making the V6 engine the cleanest and most fuel-efficient of its type ever offered by INFINITI.

This increased capacity for faster revolutions allows the higher-powered engine version to deliver greater power and torque, with the turbo speed sensor contributing to a power increase of up to 30 percent. Boost pressure is set at 14.7 psi for the 400-horsepower version, compared to 9.5 psi for the 300-horsepower variant. Both engine versions also feature a water-cooled intercooler system to further enhance performance and efficiency by rapidly cooling intake air, reducing turbo lag and enabling more immediate acceleration.
All 2019 Q60 powertrains are paired with an advanced seven-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission, featuring a manual shift mode and standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters on RED SPORT 400 models. The transmission incorporates refined logic and hardware to effectively manage the power output of the VR-series engines. Additionally, the Q60’s Adaptive Shift Control system enhances gear selection by utilizing a lateral acceleration sensor to detect changes in road conditions, such as hills and curves. The system intelligently and rapidly communicates feedback about road surface conditions and chassis behavior, providing a secure and confident steering feel for the Q60 driver and reducing driver fatigue. The Drive Mode Selector offers extensive steering customization within Direct Adaptive Steering®, providing a highly personalized handling system with 336 possible calibration settings. Accessible through menus on the upper screen of the Q60’s INFINITI InTuition™ system and the instrument cluster display, the Drive Mode Selector allows steering response to be chosen from six available modes: Personal, Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport, and Sport+ (exclusive to RED SPORT 400 models).
All models also feature standard Rack Electronic Power Steering. This system provides a linear and controlled driving experience that can also be adjusted via the Drive Mode Selector. The Q60 is available with either rear-wheel drive or INFINITI Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Both driveline options are offered across all trim levels. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system enhances stability and road holding in low-grip conditions by distributing torque evenly (50:50) between the front and rear wheels in its default setting. When extra traction is not immediately needed, the system seamlessly reverts to 100 percent rear-wheel drive, redistributing power to all four wheels as conditions change or if wheel slip is detected.

The Q60 RED SPORT 400, as the flagship performance model, comes fully equipped with staggered 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels (20×9.0 front / 20×9.5 rear on RWD models) and summer performance tires (255/35R20 front / 275/30R20 rear on RWD models). AWD RED SPORT 400 models feature 20×9.0 wheels at all four corners with 255/35R20 all-season performance tires. Additional RED SPORT 400 features include sport brakes with red-painted calipers, exclusive exhaust tips, black mirror caps, red “S” exterior badging, and the 400-horsepower engine. Inside, the RED SPORT 400 boasts steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, aluminum-accented sport pedals, sport-type semi-aniline leather seats with driver’s seat power lumbar and torso bolsters, sport-tuned Dynamic Digital Suspension, a power tilt and telescopic steering column, auto-dimming outside mirrors with reverse link, and a dual-occupant memory system for the driver’s seat, steering column, and mirrors.
