This exceptionally well-maintained 1974 Porsche 911 Coupe, presented in striking Guards Red with a Black interior, is a true testament to Porsche’s enduring legacy. Having resided in Colorado since 1983 under the care of its most recent owner, this G-Series 911 has lived a varied and cherished life. From serving as a daily driver and exhilarating Porsche Club of America track day participant, it has gracefully transitioned into a Concours d’Elegance winner in recent years. Its documented history in Colorado suggests it has benefited from the state’s favorable climate and passionate Porsche community throughout its life.
This remarkable 911 arrived at our dealership from a dedicated Porsche aficionado who acquired it in 1983. Prior to that, in 1979, the car was purchased by a private seller from Rennenhaus LTD in Denver, CO. The subsequent owner enthusiastically embraced the 911’s sporting spirit, enjoying it at numerous racetracks across the nation. More recently, its beauty and historical significance have been celebrated at Concours events throughout the Denver metropolitan area. Reflecting its track-day pedigree, a partial roll cage and racing harnesses were installed during previous ownership to enhance both driver engagement and safety during high-performance driving events.
An exciting chapter in this 911’s story unfolded during a Porsche Club race in Aspen, CO. Noticing a slight dip in engine performance, the owner entrusted the car to the skilled hands of Allen Johnsen in Grand Junction, CO. There, Allen and his expert team undertook a comprehensive engine rebuild, upgrading it to a potent 2.8L configuration, now estimated to produce an impressive 250HP. With this enhanced power plant, the owner continued to relish Porsche Club track days for many years. Its final competitive outing was at a Porsche Club race in Arizona in 2006. Following its racing retirement, the owner shifted focus to showcasing the car’s pristine condition at local and regional Concours events, explaining its remarkably well-preserved state today. Since 2006, this 911 has garnered numerous Concours awards, most of which have been carefully preserved, allowing the next custodian to continue sharing this 911’s captivating narrative.
Our Porsche Colorado Springs Factory Trained Classic Technicians have diligently maintained this 911 since 2021. They have just completed a thorough pre-owned inspection, ensuring it is primed for its next chapter. As part of this comprehensive service, we have replaced all four tires due to age considerations, addressed a shift shaft seal leak, installed a new shift coupler and bushings for crisp gear changes, fitted a new window regulator, performed a complete brake system fluid flush, and carried out a fresh annual oil and filter change. This proactive maintenance means the new owner can immediately enjoy this classic Porsche without any immediate service concerns.
Accompanying the vehicle is limited documentation and ownership records, alongside the Concours awards accumulated by the previous owner. The 911 presents in exceptionally clean condition, displaying only minor imperfections to the exterior and interior, entirely commensurate with a vehicle of its age. Previous ownership records are available upon request and will be transferred with the car to its new owner. While we strive to ensure the accuracy of every detail in this description, due to the vehicle’s age and the inherent limitations in accessing complete historical documentation, we cannot definitively guarantee the absolute accuracy of all listed items, including mileage and material originality.
